Super Mario Bros. Dimensions 2 is the upcoming sequel to Super Mario Bros. Dimensions. The game will take a different general approach from the previous game. Dimension-switching and Polter are still here, but the graphical style and music are no longer being restricted to an 8-bit aesthetic, and progression will be less linear.

Taking place after the end of the first game, the Mushroom Kingdom is intruded upon by a criminal gang from the alternate dimension known as the EVL Army, in order to retrieve the ring that Bowser had previously discovered for their own selfish uses. Couple that with yet another princess heist, and Mario, Luigi and Polter have got quite a lot on their platter! Fortunately, an ex-EVL soldier named Eden offers to give them a hand, if they are able to re-power her crashed ship.

There will be many levels with different missions to complete by finding Energy Drops. The game also aims at making Polter more involved, which him now being able to eat special fruits to give him powers to help Mario out, whether it be a floating balloon, a stretchy tongue, or a drill. Powerups such as Laser and Jetpack return from the original game, whilst the new Thorn powerup joins them, with other new powerups still to come.

Mario, Luigi and newcomer Eden are playable in this demo (who can be switched between in the overworld). 17 missions are playable in this demo, featuring three boss battles.
